Attention Parents...

This manual contains important information that will help you and your camper prepare for their exciting time at Lourdes Camp.

Click below to download/print your parent/guardian handbook.

Check In

Check-in will be on Sunday afternoon. More details will be provided soon.

What to Bring

Bring only necessary items to camp. Durable clothing and a duffel bag are recommended. Clothing and luggage should be marked. Space is limited in cabins—please do not overpack.

Check Out

Check-out will be on Fridays this summer. More details will be provided soon.

Kid Claim

Parents will receive a “Kid Claim Tag” from the cabin counselor upon arrival at the cabin. Campers are released only to those parents or guardians who present the “Kid Claim” upon departure. If a parent wishes to have someone else pick up their child, they must notify the Director at check-in. Any person forgetting the tag must present two forms of identification.

Refund Policy

Cancelation made within 14 days prior to the start of the camper’s week, a full refund will be issued. Cancelation made less than 10 days prior to the start of the camper’s week, a 50% refund will be issued. In case of injury or illness, if registration office is notified in writing by the attending physician, a full refund will be issued. Once camper arrives at camp, no refunds. Refund checks are sent as quickly as possible.

Camperships

The Campership Program is designed for children whose families’ financial situation might not otherwise allow the opportunity to enjoy an educational/recreational experience at Lourdes Camp.

Health/Safety

We have an infirmary with a resident nurse in charge of medications and first-aid needs. A local doctor and hospital are available on a 24-hour basis for consultations with our nurse.

Please send only prescription medications to camp with your child. Medications must be in the original container or we cannot dispense them.

All medications are kept at the infirmary. Campers requiring an inhaler or “puffer” for breathing ailments are allowed to keep these items with them—this is the only exception.

We supply appropriate over-the-counter medications for common ailments and illnesses. Please do not send any to camp.

All medications are returned to parents at the time of pick up.

Our Nurse or Director will contact parents if a camper’s illness or injury requires treatment by a physician.

If you will be away during your child’s stay at camp (vacation, business, etc.) please leave us the appropriate phone numbers.

Health Insurance

Lourdes Camp, Inc. carries liability insurance only and does not provide health insurance. If a camper requires medical care by a doctor or hospital, prescription drugs, dental/orthodontic services and/or eye glass repairs, the parent is financially responsible.

Health Forms

Parents are able to complete a health form online when registering. Please remember to print the over-the-counter medication form, have it signed by a doctor and bring it with you to Sunday registration.

New York State law requires a physical exam within 24 months of your child’s last day at camp. (Physician, nurse practitioner, or physician’s assistant must conduct Physical.)

The parent or guardian must sign the form.

An immunization record is required.

The insurance information is essential in case of emergency or accident requiring a visit to the doctor.

If we DO NOT possess a completed and signed health form your child will not be able to attend camp.
