Lourdes Camp is a co-ed residential camp for children 7-14. The camp is located on beautiful Skaneateles Lake twenty miles West of Syracuse. Staff are paid for seven weeks, which includes Staff Orientation Week, (TBD) and six one week sessions with campers. Most positions require living onsite. Salary includes room and board. Duties

  • Guide cabin and individual campers in participating successfully in all aspects of camp activities.
  • Carry out established roles for supervising camper health, and enforcing camp safety regulations.
  • Select cabin activities with campers and co-counselor.
  • Supervision with co-counselor to over see all assigned aspects of campers' day including reveille, cabin clean up, meal times, rest time, evening activities, getting ready for bed, after hours duty as assigned.
  • Instruct campers in emergency procedures-fire drills, evacuating the cabin etc.
  • Help campers plan their participation in camp programs and special events.
  • Available for one weekend stay-over program.

These are not the only duties performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required.

Weeks 2-4-6-7
Staff receive one full day (Sat. noon to Sun. 1:00 p.m.) and one night off each week when they can leave camp. There is additional time during the day and evening when they are “off duty.”

Staff members are off from 6:00pm Friday to 1:00pm Sunday.

*Counselors MUST be able to teach or assist in one of the following activities: Swimming, canoeing, tennis, archery, arts/crafts, hiking, basketball, ropes & challenge, pontoon boat, sailing or flag football.

Counselor
Supervise assigned-to cabin, provide leadership in all phases of camp program. Counselors MUST be able to teach or assist in one of the following activities: swimming, canoeing, sailing, tennis, archery, arts/crafts, hiking, soccer, pontoon boat, ropes/challenge, flag football, or volleyball.
$1080-$1400
Maintenance
Assist the Director of Maintenance with the physical needs of the camp. Such tasks include mowing lawns, cleaning bathrooms, garbage disposal, repairing doors, screens, windows, painting and assisting in major repairs. Must have clean valid drivers license.
$1200-$1500
Arts & Crafts Instructor
Experience in arts/crafts is necessary. This person must be able to implement creative programs for campers 7-14. Will teach arts and crafts five days a week for 5/45 minute periods.

Canoeing Instructors
Certification in canoeing a must. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of canoeing, as well as safety on the water, and be able to instruct campers in same. Will teach 5/45 minute periods per day.

Archery Instructors
Training and experience in archery a must, certification extremely helpful. Will teach archery to campers 7-14 5/45 minute periods each day. m

Sailing Instructors Certification a must. Candidates must have knowledge of sailing and safety on the water and be able to instruct campers in same. Teach campers basic sailing 5/45 minute periods each day.   2 positions available
Tennis Instructor Training and experience in tennis a must. Teach tennis to campers 5/45 minute periods each day.   1 position available
