About Us
This summer is our 70th consecutive year at Ten Mile Point on the Eastern Shore of Skaneateles Lake, following 21 years at Morning Star Manor on Little York Lake. The camp has 100 acres of land enhanced by large shade trees, sprawling lawns, surrounding hills and Ten Mile Creek, in addition to 1,500 feet of lakefront. There are 20 cabins, a main lodge, infirmary, chapel, dining hall, canteen, boathouse and modern bathrooms.
The mission of Lourdes Camp, which is an independent, self supporting entity of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse, is to provide an opportunity for youngsters to grow spiritually, physically, emotionally and socially in a wholesome, caring, outdoors environment. It is a learning experience filled with fun and excitement, available to boys and girls of all faiths between the ages of 7 and 14.
The Program
Campers choose their own activities for the week from arts and crafts, sailing, canoeing, pontoon boating, archery, hiking, soccer, tennis, basketball, fishing and volleyball. Ropes and challenge course is available for an additional fee.
All campers are required to participate in our daily swimming program. Campers are tested on the first day of camp and placed in groups according to skill level. Waterfront activities are carefully supervised by staff who are American Red Cross certified, and all swimming and safety rules are strictly enforced.
Lourdes Camp
Lourdes Camp, Inc., is required by law to be licensed for operation by the Onondaga Health Department, Bureau of Environmental Sanitation. On-site inspections take place at least twice each summer. Records of these inspections are on file at the County Health Offices, P.O. Box 190, Syracuse, NY 13215.
The camp is also accredited by the American Camp Association. We have volunteered to adhere to a set of guidelines pertaining to health and wellness, programming, human resources, strategic planning, transportation, and food service.
The ACA guidelines help us to maintain a nationally recognized standard and to provide the best camp program we can. Every three years the ACA visits camp to observe and "grade" our camp program.
Physical/Health History
BRING THE HEALTH FORM WITH YOU TO SUNDAY REGISTRATION.
New York State law requires a physical exam within 24 months of your child’s last day at camp. (Physical must be conducted by physician, nurse practitioner or physician’s assistant.)
Parent or guardian must sign form.
Immunization record is required.
The insurance information is essential in case of emergency or accident requiring a visit to the doctor.
If we DO NOT possess a completed and signed health form your child will not be able to attend camp.

Health/Safety
We have an infirmary with a resident nurse in charge of medications and first-aid needs. A local doctor and hospital is available on a 24-hour basis for consultations with our nurse.
Please send only prescription medications to camp with your child. Medications must be in the original container or we cannot dispense.
All medications are kept at the infirmary. Campers requiring an inhaler or “puffer” for breathing ailments are allowed to keep these items with them—this is the only exception.
We supply appropriate over-the-counter medications for common ailments and illnesses. Please do not send any to camp.
All medications are returned to parents on Saturday.
Parents are contacted by the nurse or director if a camper’s illness or injury requires treatment by a physician.
If you will be away during your child’s stay at camp (vacation, business, etc.) please leave us the appropriate phone numbers.
Open House
On Sunday, June 3, from 1:00-3:00 p.m., Lourdes Camp will be opened to the public. Staff for the 2012 season will be on hand to give camp tours and discuss programs. We encourage you to visit and talk with the staff. Refreshments will be served.
